In 2016, at the age of 14, I entered my first CrossFit box in Preston, Washington, with my Dad. He took me under his wing and became my coach, teaching me everything I know today. Looking for something like CrossFit that I could invest in and use to become the best version of myself, I never imagined it would become my full-time pursuit eight years later.
I qualified for the CrossFit Games twice, in 2017 and 2019, as a teenager. After my final teenage year competing, I knew I wanted to pursue the individual competition full-time. It took four years to make it back, but all the long days and hard work paid off in 2023 when I qualified for the Games as an individual, placing 25th worldwide in my rookie year. This year, I’ll be returning to the CrossFit Games as a fitter, more confident athlete, and I have high expectations for my performance.
Knowing I have years left in this journey, I want to make it to the Games ten or more times before my career is over. I believe I’m on the right track to win the Games in the future.
Lycan is a family to me. I started using their equipment in 2022 when I moved to Florida with my training partner Fee, and I fell in love with it instantly. The durability and style of the gear are truly unique and built to last. I built out my entire garage gym with their equipment, from strongman gear and machines to complete barbell/bumper sets and dumbbells. Now, I never want to leave – I call it the Lycan Lair, and it’s pretty legit.
My message for anyone reading this is to continue rising up to challenges. The journey to greatness isn’t linear and has plenty of bumps in the road. Whether you’re pursuing greatness in fitness, business, or relationships, always continue to hold yourself to high standards and Rise Again! My go-to Bible verse for trials and tribulations is “A righteous man falls seven times, yet he rises again” (Proverbs 24:16). If you keep rising to challenges, eventually, they’ll become second nature, and you’ll be able to overcome anything!
